Thanks to the leadership of Governor Walker and Republican legislators, Wisconsin is eliminating the state portion on our property tax bill. Additionally, property taxes next year will be lower than they were in 2014 — with some $8 billion in total tax cuts by 2018!
The budget signed by Governor Walker makes historic investments into our K-12 classrooms — raising funding levels to a record high. Additionally, Governor Walker’s budget is freezing UW tuition for the sixth year in a row.
Wisconsin is open for business. Our state went from bottom 10 state for business in 2011 to top 10 in 2016. In 2017, Wisconsin’s unemployment hit a 17-year low, with more people working than ever before.
The bold reforms of Governor Walker and Republican leaders are paying off. Wisconsin’s budget will end with a surplus of over $200 million, with another $248 million in the state’s rainy day fund.
